Damon Draws His Dagger at Calista’s Trial Damon trains Calista in frost until her hands shake, then forbids her from ever casting again. He says her frail body cannot survive the art; Calista hears only another cage. The temple horn cuts through their argument, summoning every Severu to judgment. High Elder Theren presides as Calista is put on public trial for a woman practicing magic. Damon steps forward and claims the crime as his own, offering the Forbidden Forest as punishment. Theren refuses the trade. He cites the ancestral covenants, then orders Calista’s execution. Damon’s face twists. He draws his dagger and walks toward his despairing daughter while the clan watches. Damon crosses the temple with a dagger drawn—will he obey Theren’s execution order, or cut Calista loose before the Severus seize her?
