Old Man Zhou Mocks the Ragged Father of Sihai's Top Scholar The same relatives who laughed at the hotel door follow Zhang Xi and his father into the Sihai City top-scholar banquet. Sponsor Old Man Zhou and the other guests take one look at Zhang Yuanyue's worn clothes and sneer, mistaking him for a rag picker. Zhang Xi burns with embarrassment, but he still stands up for his father. Teacher Lin, terrified of offending Old Man Zhou, keeps warning Zhang Yuanyue to watch his words. Zhang Yuanyue stays calm through the snobbery—until his eyes harden and he cuts in: it is not Old Man Zhou's place to lecture Zhang Xi. At the top-scholar banquet, what gives a supposed scrap collector the nerve to tell Old Man Zhou he has no right to lecture Zhang Xi?
