Christine Credits Tony While Elijah Drives Her to Maple Hotel A multimillion-dollar Hiller Group contract—plus extra investment—lands on Christine’s desk, and Peter Hiller hints that a hidden big shot pulled strings for her. Christine’s conclusion is instant: Tony Roth. She calls to thank him. Tony, who lifted nothing but his phone, takes the credit and asks her to meet at the Maple Hotel. Then Christine orders Elijah—her husband, her driver, and secretly the Djinn who actually sent the contract—to drive her there. Don’t wait outside, she says. She wants private time with her benefactor. Elijah’s hands stay steady on the wheel.
